Terms of use

Last updated: August 25, 2026

These terms govern use of Customer Blacklist. They are operator-written product rules, not legal advice. How we handle information is in our privacy policy. Product background lives on /legal.

Agreement

By accessing Customer Blacklist, creating an account, filing a claim, paying for membership, or looking someone up, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use Customer Blacklist for a shop, you represent that you can bind that business.

The service

Customer Blacklist is a private claim file for merchants. Shops may file written claims about customers (chargebacks, no-shows, disputes, and similar incidents) and paying members may look up a name and email against those files. It is not a public directory, people search, or a public name page. Filing a claim does not notify the named customer. Other shops see a file only after they sign in and, for lookup, pay membership.

Customer Blacklist and its wordmark, layout, and software are owned by the operator. You may not copy the product, scrape its data, or republish claim files. You keep whatever rights you already have in the text and documents you upload; you grant us a license to store, show, and operate those materials as part of the private file.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be 18 or older to create an account, file a claim, or subscribe. Accounts are for shops and for named subjects who sign in to view a matching file. Keep credentials confidential. Shop email verification is required before a claim is filed. We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms or that we cannot keep secure.

Filing a claim

Filing is free on /submit. The shop/filer email receives a 6-digit OTP. The customer/subject email is the claim key and never gets the code. Additional subject emails, if added, are extra lookup keys only. We skip the shop code only when the signed-in shop email is already verified (OTP sign-in or an already-verified member). Unverified password sessions still get a shop code.

A claim needs a subject first and last name, a valid subject email, an incident type, a written description of what happened, and an evidence note. File only incidents you believe occurred in a commercial setting with your shop. Do not invent claims or name people you did not deal with.

Evidence

Evidence should be a processor notice, chargeback letter, booking log, or similar document — PDF, text, or a scan of the letter. No photos of people. Evidence stays private with the claim. It is available to the same people who can see the claim file, not to anonymous visitors.

Lookups and membership

Looking someone up on /lookup requires a signed-in shop account and a $10/month membership billed through Stripe. Lookup is session-gated: paste a name and email to see whether a matching private claim exists. Membership does not make claims public. We store Stripe customer and subscription identifiers on the merchant record so we can confirm membership. We do not store full card numbers.

Not a credit report; permitted use

Customer Blacklist is not a consumer report and is not offered as a credit report. The permitted use is a merchant deciding whether to take a walk-in, booking, or shop customer. You may not use the service to determine employment, tenant or housing, personal-credit, or insurance eligibility. Those are prohibited uses under 15 U.S.C. § 1681b. Do not treat a lookup result as a FCRA consumer report, a background check, or a score.

Contests and the named person

A named subject whose verified email matches a subject email on a claim may sign in and open that file at /file. They may contest an open claim in writing. A contest is a written record on the same private file. The status stays a claim until a later operator verdict; the product does not run a hearing. Filing a contest does not delete the file or publish a public rebuttal page.

Prohibited uses

You may not:

  • File fake, retaliatory, or knowingly false claims.
  • Scrape, crawl, bulk-export, or automate lookups beyond ordinary shop use.
  • Doxx, threaten, harass, or publish personal information about a named person.
  • Republish claim files, evidence, or lookup results on the open internet, social media, or any public directory.
  • Use the file for employment, tenant/housing, personal-credit, or insurance eligibility decisions (15 U.S.C. § 1681b).
  • Circumvent OTP, membership, rate limits, or access controls.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or stop features. We may update these terms as the product changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means the revised terms apply to later use of Customer Blacklist. Membership billing follows Stripe; we may change price with notice on the site or account.

Disclaimers

Customer Blacklist is provided “as is.” Claims are written by shops, not investigated by us as a court or credit bureau. We do not warrant that a file is complete, accurate, or that a lookup miss means no incident occurred. We do not promise uninterrupted access. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator of Customer Blacklist is not liable for lost profits, lost bookings, reputational harm, or other indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, a claim file, or a lookup. Our total liability for a claim relating to Customer Blacklist is limited to the membership fees you paid us in the three months before the claim, or $30 if you paid nothing.

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify the operator of Customer Blacklist against claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from your filings, lookups, contests, republication, or misuse of the service, including claims by a named customer about content you submitted.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for disputes is in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming. We do not publish a street address on this page.
