Chargebacks

A chargeback is a card payment reversed after the shop already did the work or released the goods. The processor takes the money back; the shop is left with the labor, the inventory, and a letter.

Who this is for

Shop owners and operators who took a card payment that later came back as a dispute — restaurants, salons, retailers, and similar merchants. Not consumers looking someone up by name.

What shops usually do

Call the processor, gather the authorization or receipt, and often eat the loss when representment is too late or too expensive. Some write the incident down so the next shop is not starting from zero.

What a private claim file is

A written merchant claim other member shops can see after they sign in and, for lookup, pay membership. Search engines and anonymous visitors do not get a customer directory.

What we will not do
